Full Time Warehouse Assistant (34 hours per week)
$19.00 per hour

This job description explains the main duties and responsibilities of the Warehouse Assistant. The assistant helps with daily tasks like retrieving, receiving, storing, and distributing food for the warehouse and food distribution. They make sure all food is stored safely, follow the "first in, first out" (FIFO) system, and keep accurate records. Management may update or change the duties as needed. As a full-time employee, the applicant will be entitled to enroll in life insurance benefits, and participation in 403(B) Retirement account. PTO and Sick time is also available.

POSITION REPORTS TO: Warehouse Manager

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare and operate IFC vehicles, ensuring they are ready and equipped for food rescue while representing IFC with professionalism and integrity.

2. Load and unload trucks, receive donations, and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of food products.

3. Keep accurate records of all incoming and outgoing food donations, daily route sheets, temperature logs for all coolers and freezers, and truck mileage logs.

4. Guide and support volunteers in sorting, inspecting, and bagging products for distribution, with an emphasis on quality control of the product. Restocking as needed during distribution.

5. Maintain the warehouse, freezer, and cooler in a neat and orderly condition, including frequent trash removal, ensuring access to products and proper rotation.

6. Assist with food drives, holiday events, annual inventory and fundraising activities.

7. Identify and recommend necessary repairs for equipment, trucks, and facilities.

8. Perform additional duties as needed to ensure the effective operation of the food center.

9. Duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

· Warehouse experience

· Valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record and be comfortable driving box trucks

· High School diploma or GED required

· Basic computer skills

· Ability to operate a manual and electric pallet jack.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time and to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

· Good verbal and written communication skills.

· Serv-Safe certification required, IFC will pay for certification, if necessary.

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

· Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, holidays, and weekends. Possible special events as requested or required.

· Ability to work well individually and as a part of a team; ability to communicate professionally with employees, vendors, volunteers, and clients.

· Be authorized to work in the United States.
