HYC: Youth Suicide Awareness
📣 Join us for a meaningful walk to raise awareness about youth suicide!
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), youth suicide rates have increased by nearly 60% over the past decade. Youth suicide is a pressing issue in the US, with suicide being the second leading cause of death among individuals aged 10-24. Every year, thousands of young lives are tragically lost, and countless more are affected by the struggle with mental health. This is a call for all of us to act.
Let’s come together as a community to support mental health and spread awareness, break the silence, and show our young people that they are not alone. Your participation can make a difference! 🌟
Our purpose:
-
Raising Awareness: Educating the public about the prevalence of youth suicide and the factors contributing to it.
-
Reducing Stigma: Breaking down the stigma associated with mental health issues and suicide, encouraging open dialogue.
-
Community Support: Bringing together those affected by suicide, providing a sense of community and mutual support. A reminder that YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
-
Promoting Resources: Highlighting available resources and support systems for mental health and suicide prevention, among others to promote the wellbeing of our community.
-
Memorializing Loved Ones: Honoring and remembering those who have lost their lives to suicide, offering comfort to their families and friends.
