Whittwood Town Center to Host 2024 Tree Lighting in November & ''Santa Saturday'' Event in December

WHITTWOOD TOWN CENTER TO HOST 2024 TREE LIGHTING IN NOVEMBER

AND ‘SANTA SATURDAY’ EVENT IN DECEMBER

WHAT: Whittwood Town Center, an open-air shopping center in Whittier, California invites the community to its seventh annual Holiday Tree Lighting celebration on Saturday, November 16th, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Center Courtyard. Following remarks from Whittier’s Mayor Joe Vinatieri, the center will light its magical Whittwood Christmas tree. The Friendly Grinch will kick off the festivities alongside a cast of holiday characters, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be escorted to the stage by the Whittier Fire Department (as long as no emergencies arise) for a countdown to the tree lighting. Musical performances will be provided by the talented youth from three local schools. The event will also feature hot cocoa, cider and cookies (while supplies last); a holiday parade; meet-and-greets with strolling characters, including Santa, Mrs. Claus and The Grinch; illuminated holiday performers; vintage car displays; holiday-themed selfie opportunities; balloon twisters; and other artistic talent.

Additionally, on Saturday, December 14th, the center will also host its popular Santa Saturday event from noon to 3 p.m. in Center Courtyard. During this event, visitors can take selfies with Santa and enjoy a balloon artist, a face painter and appearances by several holiday characters. While attending the event, guests are also encouraged to donate a new toy to the “Spark of Love” Toy Drive; each event attendee donating a toy will receive a $5 gift card from select Whittwood Town Center retailers or restaurants. All toys collected will be donated to the Los Angeles County and Whittier Fire Department’s Annual Toy Drive.
