Steak 'n Stein offers special Prix Fixe Menu

Pico Rivera, CA – Steak ’n Stein Inn is celebrating its 73rd anniversary with a special Prix Fixe Dinner for $46 per person throughout November to commemorate when it opened in 1946.

The menu begins with a choice of soup of the day or house salad, cabbage salad and Clearman’s Cheese Bread. Entrée choices are 16 oz. Prime Rib, Petite Filet and King Crab or Teriyaki Mahi Mahi with Mango Island Salsa, each served with giant Idaho baked potato prepared tableside with all the fixings. Dessert choices are Chocolate Rum Sundae or Chocolate Mousse Cake.

“So many of our guests celebrate their birthdays with us,” says manager Jonathan Brennan. “Now we are sharing our special occasion with all of our customers.”

Steak ‘n Stein was the first restaurant founded by John Clearman, who at age 40 left an acting career to open the restaurant in 1946. He once was quoted as saying, “A good restaurant has a longer run than a good play” and reinvented himself as a restaurant owner.

This first venture into the restaurant business was a hit, and Clearman went on to open three North Woods Inns still operating in San Gabriel, Covina and La Mirada; Clearman’s Galley, also known as The Boat, in San Gabriel and the Magic Lamp Inn in Rancho Cucamonga that was later sold.

With its circular fireplace (transformed into a water fountain during the summer), dark wood and brick interior and exceptional tableside service where steaks are flambéed and salads tossed fresh with dressings for guests, the Steak ‘n Stein Inn is the perfect spot for a thick, tender steak and some camaraderie with friends and family.
